What is Plastiseal?
Plastiseal "F" is an expanding joint sealing paste that has been tested and approved by both the US Government and General Electric for use with metallic or non-metallic gaskets up to 1600°F/871°C. Plastiseal has a successful track record and is used on aircraft jet engines and turbines throughout the world. Plastiseal "F" is impervious to solvents or corrosive action of synthetic lubricating oils, gasoline, and similar fuels. It will not shrink, harden or become brittle and is not affected by vibration. Plastiseal "F" is soluble in water and exposure to alternate freezing and thawing conditions will have no effect on the compound. Plastiseal "F" does not give off toxic fumes when heated.
How it works
Plastiseal "F" can be applied as a paste or by dipping objects to be coated in the compound. Using a unique combination of ingredients, Plastiseal expands under heat, and will fully expand filling any voids to create a tight, durable seal.
